A bit of history

dView is a simple image viewer/converter for Windows made with the .NET Framework. It’s a powerful and easy to use tool to manage even the most common multi-frame image formats.

The development has started in 2016 as a VB6 project, originally intended as a replacement for the old Windows XP Picture Viewer.
Switching to the .NET Framework, it has grown into a powerful yet simple image and photo viewer, converter and editor tool and is now maintained and developed constantly and frequently.
The first .NET version (0.8.1) was also the first free and open source public release. Starting from version 1.0.0 the application is free but no longer open source. With the 2.x.x versions a lot of new features have been added (and many others will be added) and now dView can be compared to other digital image viewing software packages such as IrfanView, XnView and FastStone.
